Communications

The Communications Department provides strategic input in decision-making and communicating decisions of the administration and School Board. The department is responsible for developing and assisting with communication for both internal and external audiences, including community, government and media relations; crisis communication and mass notification; website and social media; news releases, newsletters and marketing materials; advertising sponsorship; brand standards and requests for information.
 

The Communications Department oversees operation of District 196 Cable TV and District 196 YouTube channels and the district’s Legislative Advisory Council. The Communications Department also produces a quarterly newsletter, Spotlight, that shares stories of infinite possibilities from around District 196.

District 196 recognizes the value and increasing role of online social media in an education realm. To increase our communication efforts, we have accounts on five social media sites:
