Amy Denneson explained the school board policy for GTAC- link to this policy on the district website. Broad membership of district level, school level, and community representatives- Staff and parent representatives for each level of elementary, middle school and high school, and student representatives. Terms are 3 years as rotating positions. Representatives are expected to attend at least 75% of meetings (4x per year). Steve Troen shares feedback from GTAC to CIAC (Curriculum and Instruction Advisory Council).

Amy Denneson explained guidance from our school board this year called “SEA Change” SEA is an acronym for safety, equity and achievement. These are the three lenses for making decisions and ensuring we are meeting the needs of all students. Analogy to a three-legged stool- must have all three legs to stand.

Breakout discussion into 3 smaller groups to discuss Safety, Equity, and Achievement- using same discussion questions as CIAC

Not enough time for breakout discussion about GTD priorities with SEA- this will be our first agenda item in November.

GTAC nominated and voted unanimously for Samyak and Ankitha to serve as co-chairs this year.

Meeting adjourned at 6:30 pm
