Emerald Trail Elementary School Opens

Emerald Trail Elementary is officially open—Rosemount-Apple Valley-Eagan Public Schools elementary school #20 — a shining example of what happens when a community support.

“We are so excited to open this new elementary school,” said Superintendent Michael Bolsoni. “Built to relieve overcrowding and to welcome generations of learners in a modern, sustainable environment, this school stands ready to nurture students for years to come. It is a community commitment to building our future, and I want to thank voters who supported this project as part of the 2023 bond referendum.”

Emerald Trail Elementary, located at 13600 Ardroe Ave., Rosemount, opened with 650 students on Sept. 2 and has a capacity of 750. Motorists are advised of two new crosswalk zones and school speed zones on Bonaire Path (30 mph) and Ardroe (20 mph).

From the earliest planning meetings to the joyful ribbon cutting, families, educators, city and county leaders, and community partners have shared one vision: creating a school designed for students first. The building features include a net-zero emissions design with bright, flexible classroom spaces that bring sustainability, innovation, and connection to daily learning.
