District 196: A Special Place to Work

The first District 196 Employee Experience Survey, with nearly 3,000 respondents districtwide, highlights a deep sense of pride among employees in advancing the district’s mission of educating, developing, and inspiring students for lifelong success.

Pride and purpose in every role
All employee groups — in classrooms, cafeterias, offices, buses, and buildings and grounds, understand their role in supporting student learning.

  • 93% of employees said they are proud to work for the district.
  • 91% would recommend District 196 to families.
  • 89% said their workplace is welcoming and inclusive.
  • 88% reported feeling part of a trusted, collaborative team.
  • 97% said educators demonstrate care for students.

“These results affirm what makes District 196 a special place to learn and work,” said Superintendent Michael Bolsoni. “Our employees bring extraordinary care, professionalism, and commitment to their work. Their passion for supporting students is evident every day, and hearing their honest insights will help guide our future.”

A shared path forward
Employees consistently described students as their greatest motivation. Building relationships, seeing student growth, and making a difference in children’s lives were named the most meaningful parts of their jobs. The survey also pointed to areas for continued improvement in employee appreciation, collaboration, and internal communication.

“By listening to our employees, we strengthen our ability to serve students and families,” said Superintendent Bolsoni.
