School District Election 2024

The School Board is responsible for the conduct of all district elections. Voting information and records, including campaign finance reports and information about past elections, are included below.

School Board Special Election 2024

One of the seven at-large positions on the District 196 School Board is up for election in the Nov. 5, 2024 election. This special election is to fill the remaining year of the term of former School Board member Bianca Virnig, who resigned in February after she was elected to the state Legislature. The School Board appointed Leah Gardner to fill the vacancy until an election for the open seat could be held. The term runs through January 5, 2026. 

Voting Begins September 20

Voters can cast their ballot on Election Day at their designated general election polling place, or by absentee ballot (in person or by mail) beginning Sept. 20. More about voting can be found on our Voting Information page.
