A person who knows or has reason to believe a child has been neglected or physically or sexually abused shall make an oral report IMMEDIATELY by phone to be followed by a report in writing within 72 hours, exclusive of weekends and holidays. Reports of maltreatment in a school should be reported to the Minnesota Department of Education (MDE). Please call MDE at 651-582-8546, then fill out the MDE form as completely as possible.
