Series 602.6.1.1P - Request for Consideration of Grade Acceleration

To be completed by the person making the request:

This form should be submitted to the school principal between September 1 and April 1. Requests received after April 1 will be processed during the following school year. After this document is received, a referral team consisting of the school principal, gifted and talent development teacher, psychologist, and classroom teacher(s), special education teachers, English language development teacher and gifted and talent from the next development teacher (as appropriate) will review the request and determine if the grade acceleration process should be started. If the process is started, a six week academic intervention period will take place and data will be collected before a recommendation is made about grade acceleration.
