1. Application Process
A parent or guardian of an elementary school (grades k-5) student who is attending a daycare in District 196 and who would like transportation to and/or from the daycare site must complete the appropriate request form as described below.
1.1 District 196 Resident Elementary School Students Attending Daycare in District 196
1.1.1 Complete Procedure 502.4.4P, Student Transfers: Daycare for Students in Grades K-5, for each student and return to the District 196 Student Information Supervisor each year for the following school year, or whenever there is a change in daycare during the school year.
1.2 Nonresident Elementary School Students Attending Daycare in District 196
1.2.1 Completing Procedure 502.4.1P, Application to Participate in the State Enrollment Options Program and Procedure 502.4.4P, Student Transfers: Daycare for Students in Grades K-5 and return to the District 196 Student Information Supervisor by January 5 each year for the following school year, or whenever there is a change a daycare during the school year.
1.3 Resident and Nonresident Elementary School Students Moving to Daycare or Changing Daycare Within the Attendance Area of the School They Currently Attend
1.3.1 Complete Procedure 707.5.2P, Transportation for Elementary School Students in Daycare Within Same School Attendance Area, for each child attending daycare and return to the District 196 Transportation Department.
2. Daycare Provided in Private Residences or Licensed Commercial Daycare Centers
The district will provide transportation as described in Policy 707, Student Transportation (section 1.6, Transportation for Elementary School Students in Daycare), and Administrative Regulation 707.2AR, School Bus Safety, once the student's parent or guardian has completed, submitted and, if necessary, received approval for a transfer, as described in section 1 above.
