1.    Purpose

Individual board members may be assigned to represent the school district on various types of school and community organizations, such as district advisory councils and statewide educational organizations. Assignments shall be made at the annual organization meeting in January and thereafter by the board chairperson as new needs arise throughout the year.

2.    Appointments to Internal Groups

2.1.     Individual board members may be assigned to represent the school district on advisory councils and other groups established within the district for various district programs, initiatives and departments. Assigned board members serve on these groups alongside other assigned or appointed stakeholders.

2.2.     Three board members are assigned to the school board’s policy review committee. The role of the committee is to meet, as necessary, to review new and revised board policies before they are presented to the full school board.

3.    Appointments to External Organizations

Individual board members may be assigned to represent the district on statewide educational organizations or on other external organizations.
