Westview Mission Statement
  • The mission of our elementary school is to provide students with the basic skills needed to become lifelong learners.
  • We believe a team approach consisting of parents, staff and community members is the best way for our students to acquire these skills.

Building Goal

Improve student math skills using various teaching processes and the district math curriculum. Students in grades 2 - 5, as measured by the Spring 2008 MAP math test, will have the percent meeting their growth target equivalent to the 60th percentile.

Title One Services

Students who are in need of additional help in understanding or completion of their classroom tasks have an opportunity to receive assistance through the Title I program, specifically in the areas of reading and / or math. Students may receive help in these curricular areas based on the recommendation of the classroom teacher and achievement test scores. Title I instruction is provided on an individualized or small group basis for a limited number of minutes per week, dependent upon the needs of the student. Westview includes parents in all aspects of the Title I program. The goal is a school-home partnership that will help all students succeed.
