Communication
All of us at Woodland Elementary are very interested in promoting communication between the staff and parents. We encourage you to call or contact any staff member when you have concerns or need questions answered. Other methods of communications used in ISD 196 and at Woodland Elementary are: Backpack Online connects parents and students with district email list services. Midterm Report - The purpose of the midterm checkpoint is to informally communicate with families between formal reports when a conference is not scheduled. It is not intended to show actual grades, but to give you a sense of how your child is doing at this time. A Midterm report will be sent home with students at the mid-point of trimester 3. Grade Level Newsletters - Electronic newsletters are available at each grade level to keep you informed of what is happening in your child's classroom. This newsletter is linked to the email listserv. Please inform your child's teacher if you would like a paper copy. Woodland's Newsletter - The principal and PTO will send electronic newsletters periodically informing you about overall activities/events at Woodland Elementary. This newsletter is linked to the email listserv. Please inform the office if you would like a paper copy. Woodland ListServ- Important information is sent out each week (usually on Friday) via an electronic email system. Check the website to get signed up for your grade level. You will need to sign up each school year, as this does not carry over from year to year. School Visits - Parents are always welcome to visit at Woodland Elementary. Friday Folders - In all grades (K - 5), a folder of student work and school notes will be sent home each Friday. |
