All students at VMS were invited to participate in the Maud Hart Lovelace Quizbowl. This entails reading and knowing the 20 books nominated for the Maud Hart Lovelace Book Award. Over 30 teams participated in round 1, on April 2. 7 teams rose to the forefront at this event and have been practicing, rereading, and studying the authors as well. On May 7, these teams met in a showdown Quizbowl. They had to answer random questions about the characters, setting, story themes, important events and author information as well. It was a VERY close race – however, Megan and Katerina won and are the 2008 Maud Hart Lovelace Quizbowl Winners! They will enjoy their fame and their $60 cash prize!
