The Drug Abuse Resistance Education or D.A/R.E. program is a thirteen wee program that is taught by a specially trained, uniformed law officer to all fifth grade classes. The program is designed to teach children to recognize and resist social pressures that may influence them to use dangerous drugs. They will complete a workbook, participate in class role-playing activities and complete an essay. The top essay winner in each class will read their essay at graduation. By completing this program, students join others from around the world that have also chosen to be drug-free.
