At Shannon Park we are fortunate to have two fully operational labs available for student use; our main computer lab plus another lab located in the media center. Each lab has flat screen iMacs. Every class is schedule to use the main computer lab during their five or six day cycle rotation.
Shannon Park uses SmartBoards, document cameras, projectors and other tools that enhance classroom learning. We also have three mobile labs with MacBooks, MacBook Airs or Chromebooks. They provide the flexibility of having computers in the classroom too.
All the students at Shannon Park have the opportunity to develop their computer skills in the areas of word processing, programming, language arts, math, graphic arts, Internet research, creative presentation, and keyboarding.
Students in grades 2-5 work in “Collaboration Station” or “Collab.” Collab is District 196’s roll-out of Google Apps for Education. Collab is used by students to create documents, presentations, spreadsheets and so on. With teacher permission, students can login to Collab at home.
We would like to thank our Shannon Park community again for participating in various fundraising efforts at SP. Some of the money raised was used over the years to support technology.
