Dawn Aase, Joan Stovall, and Lisa Wilson are the Speech-Language Clinicians at Shannon Park. We are part of the Special Education Child Study Team. Part of our role is to work with teachers and other special education team members in order to plan interventions for students and to assist the team in bringing a child through the child study (assessment) process.
We also work with students who have been assessed and diagnosed as having the following communication disorders, which interfere academically in some manner:
- articulation (sound production errors)
- language comprehension
- language expression
- fluency (stuttering)
- voice quality
- pragmatics (social language)
Our goal is to improve the speech-language skills of our students in order to enhance their academic and social-emotional growth.
