 The purpose of the site council is to address issues or concerns that are brought to them directly or through other communication channels. A member of the site council serves as a parent representative at district meetings. The site council has sponsored or supported a number of school events. They have voted on capital expenditures, school budgets, and school programs. The site council sponsors fundraisers. The majority of funds raised helps support the academic programs within Shannon Park.
The site council sponsors the All School Family Picnic in May. This event allows families to come together to share an evening of fun and food with one another. The site council has a significant and positive impact on the Shannon Park Community.
The site council meets on the third Wednesday of the month at 8:00 a.m. Please check the Shannon Park school calendar for dates. The meetings are open to the community. If there is a specific topic that you want discussed, it should be called into the principal or chairperson to be placed on the agenda one week prior to the meeting date.
Members are nominated by the community and staff in the spring of each year. Each elected member shall serve a three year term.
