Welcome to Shannon Park!
Shannon Park News

Welcome to 2010!

Our 18th year of participating in Jump Rope For Heart is fast approaching.  We have raised over $260,000.00 for the American Heart Association and we were 93rd in the USA out of all the schools who participated last year.

The theme for this year is “It takes HEART to be a HERO.  Make a difference in somebody’s life.”
Jump Rope For Heart is being held on Wednesday, February 17th, 2010, a cycle day 2.

Students in Grade 5 and students from Hayward and J. Olson will be jumping from 9:40 – 11:40.

Students in Grade 3 and students from L. Anderson, Plowman and Grothe will be jumping from 1:30 – 3:30.

Shannon Park Da Capo Choir provides an opportunity for students in grades 3, 4 & 5 to share their passion for singing with others! The District 196 Music Department in partnership with District 196 Community Education is offering this music opportunity. Da Capo is a non-auditioned choir that focuses on vocal technique, music reading and artistic expression in a fun and educational setting. This feeder program will allow students the opportunity to audition for the district's Fall 2010 Dakota Valley Festival Children's Choir (DVFCC). Kathleen Radspinner, M.A. Music Education, vocal music teacher at Shannon Park, has extensive experience with children’s choirs and is excited to provide Da Capo Choir. Register through ISD 196 community education, youth services or fill out the attached registration form and send it to community education.
