ROADS

Roads data is slow to display and load. Use the data to locate your space and to give a quick estimate the population density of the area. Once your site has been found you may wish to turn off all or some of the road data to speed up the rate at which the computer re-plots (refreshes) the screen. To display partial data see the help screens on sensitivity.

The data to the right is the road data for the portion of Burnsville that is being considered for the regional amphitheater.

Note the cul-de-sacs and the lack of roads in the center of the map. Highway 35 is just off the right edge of the map.

To find out the name or number of any road simply select the road theme in the list of themes (click once). Then choose the tool from the toolbar and click on the road in question. If the table that opens contains several listings for the road, you have selected a road that is managed by more than one level of government. If nothing opens, click again being sure to place the center of the cursor on the road before you click and double-check to see that the road theme is selected in the list of themes.
