In the GIS data on Academic2 there is a field that gives a regional sense of the direction of groundwater flow. Please be advised that flow in any specific area is subject to many variables and can only be accurately assessed by direct monitoring of the flow. Recall the work you did with the state geologist and the county hydrologist.
The theme (layer) is called potentio and needs a little work before the data it contains can be used as information.
Double click the theme to bring up the legend editor. Select graduated color and a field to display. Click the apply button to create something on the order of the legend displayed below.

It would be good to display the values for these lines. The values tell you which way the groundwater is flowing as it goes from high numbers to lower ones. To display the values go to the menus at the top and select "Theme". Under theme choose the auto-label option.

The process is easy, but not simple. In the popup window after the words "Label field" select the field that has the values you wish to display.
Clicking OK turns on the labels. If you would like the labels to be placed somewhere else choose "Properties" under the "Theme" menu at the top of the page. |
Here are the lines and their labels. NOTE, that in this area the groundwater is flowing toward the river.
