Yucatan

Fall Trimester, 10 day field study leaving early Thursday morning and returning the following Sunday evening

$1850: $300 April, $775 September, $775 October

The excitement begins the first moment students make their way through customs, and drive to a Mexican market to shop for the makings of their breakfasts and lunches (all of our dinners are prepared).  Students continue their travel via vans to Sian Ka'an, a biosphere reserve about two and one half hours south of Cancun along the Caribbean coast, where students will begin their adventure.  Over the next ten days students will snorkle in the Caribbean several times identifying reef organisms, visit Mayan villages and work with the children, hike through the jungle, stay in a local Mayan village, investigate the impacts of tourism and development along the Mayan Riviera, and study both 1,000 year old Mayan ruins and modern Mayan culture.
