New Zealand Field Study

Fall Trimester

$1600 plus Airfare

Students will have the opportunity to trek throughout the vast countryside of New Zealand. Many of the hiking areas are rated as some of the best in the world.

Wilderness Inquiry ( a nonprofit organization) out of Minneapolis is partnering with SES to offer this experience to SES students. The major emphasis of this trip is to explore the natural beauty that New Zealand has to offer, and to learn about the culture that is present today. Students will be "tramping" (that's what the locals call hiking) in a number of national parks and staying primarily overnight in the "huts" that are present throughout the trails. Huts range is size, structure, and amenitites. They provide a comforatable shelter to rest overnight during the expedition.
