The countdown to France and Spain in the World Language room is getting shorter by the day! Students and staff alike are eagerly anticipating this SES Intensive Theme Field Study to France and Spain, and May still seems too far away...thinking about Paris’s Luxembourg Gardens in full bloom, as well as the Madrid's El Prado and Spain's sunny skies, make it hard to imagine warmer weather as we look out at Minnesota’s snowy terrain. Our trip will begin in Paris, where we will spend several days using the metro transportation system to visit its well-known landmarks, as well as some lesser-known sites, including Sacre Coeur Basilica. Students will have an opportunity to try ordering in French on the Left Bank near the Sorbonne. Then we will board the night train and head to Chateaux country, the Val-de-Loire. We'll visit a couple of castles and then move on to Madrid. When we arrive in Madrid we'll go to the Prado Art Museum and have a good time seeing the sites. Both France and Spain are captivating countries. We look forward eagerly to getting to know their fascinating history, their lively people, and a bit of their languages during our stay in May. Vive la France y Adelante a Madrid! More to come as we get closer to our trip.
