Alaska Field Study: Overview
The Alaska Field Study focuses on the cultural and natural history of the state. Through readings, museums, speakers, activities, and travel the students will gain a better understanding of the Alaskan people, history, and ecology. We concentrate our travel on several geographic areas: the Kenai Peninsula, Anchorage, Matanuska-Susitna Valley, and the Interior.
Camping Beginner to Expert: State Park Style Campgrounds for the majority of evenings.
Hiking Moderate to Strenuous: Several Hikes on Mountain Trails, Forests, & Glaciers, Hikes range from 45 minutes to 5 Hours
Weather Cool and Wet: 40-65 degress F, 20+ Hours of Daylight
Meals Food will Consist of Student-cooked Camp Meals and Local Restaurants
