Students at SES participate in rigorous, engaging studies of environments and environmental issues in many unique places.

All studies are funded by the participants and typically last from 6 - 12 days depending on travel distances and other considerations.

Students are not required to participate in a field study during their time at SES. Those not on field studies participate in one of many intensive theme offerings, often involving local travel and study outside the building as well.
