Winter Outdoor Recreation: Section 1
Course Description: This class is designed to introduce you to outdoor physical activities. You will have the opportunity to learn about equipment and techniques necessary to have an enjoyable and safe outdoor experience. We will focus on cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, and winter hiking.

Absences: Participation is a big part of your grade. It is impossible to participate if you are absent. Be there.
Dress for Success: Warm clothes, hat, gloves, athletic shoes, winter boots, hiking shoes, lots of socks and an extra change of clothes are necessary for each class day. You should also bring your water bottle and small backpack each day.

Prerequisite: NONE
Winter Recreation II is a course in downhill skiing and/or snowboarding fundamentals, using area ski hills. The schedule will include instruction and practice. This is a great class for beginners as well as experienced skiers/boarders. Lessons are required for all levels. Helmets are required for all students in the terrain park. We will take a bus to area ski hills (mainly Welch Village). This option is NOT available to students who have home high school classes periods 4-7. Please see Ms. Melton or Ms.Clements with questions. The class fee will include the bus, lift tickets, lessons and rentals.
