Lifetime Fitness Intensive Theme Class

During this seven day/all day class you will  spend part of each day  doing physical activities at Lifetime Fitness Club on Cliff Rd, Eagan.  The other part of each day is spent either at SES working on academic studies regarding various health issues or on a field trip. You will be able to earn one P.E. credit for this class. If you have more than two absences you will lose the Intensive Theme class credit.

There are several tasks that must be completed to participate:

Task #1:

Complete the permission and liability forms provides in the “Information Packet” that is given to students at school. Get parent/guardian signatures where needed even if you are 18. You will not be allowed to participate at the Lifetime Fitness Club without them. Turn them in on day 1 of the class.

Task #2:

Provide payment of $50 fee on or before the first day of class. Write checks to SES.  The fee is required even if you are already a member of the club. Turn this in with your forms from task #1.

Task #3:

Inform your parent/guardian that you will need to car pool with other students for some of our off-campus activities including daily trips to the Lifetime Fitness Club just north of SES on Cliff Rd., as well as short trips to Valley Natural Foods and other possible sites in Apple Valley (TBD). Busses are hired for field trips outside of our school district. Carpooling for the short trips helps us keep the fee for this class down.

Task #4:

For students who have home high school classes there will be two days during the class in which you may need to miss your home school classes.  These absences will be school authorized. Let your home high school teachers know you will be absent those days. You will be responsible for assignments missed.

Task #5:

Starting on Day 1, bring a gym bag with appropriate exercise clothing for the club.  You may need swim wear.  You also may bring in your favorite board game (marked with your name)  for the “social health” table.  On the last day of class, you will be asked to bring in a healthy breakfast item to share potluck style.

Task #6:

Inform your teachers in writing of any health or learning issues that will affect your class performance.  If accommodations are needed, official documentation of the need will be required.
