English Language Learners (ELL) |
The ESL Program is for the instruction of students of other languages to acquire proficiency in the English language skills of reading, writing, listening and speaking.
At Red Pine there are approximately 55 students in the ESL program. Some students receive ESL support in collaborative classrooms. Other students are supported outside of the classroom with extra English instruction as needed, depending on their language needs.
Some of the languages spoken at the students’ homes include Spanish, Hmong, Vietnamese, Russian, Lao, Khmer (Cambodian), Korean, Swedish, Somali, Urdu, Amharic, Japanese , Cantonese and Twi Asante (Ghana).
