The fifth graders all have a chance to shine in the area of spelling in December!  All students are given a pre-test, and the top scorers advance to our building spelling bee.  Usually, there are about 30 fifth graders in this spelling bee.  They compete in front of the fourth and fifth graders and parents in four rounds of oral spelling.  We narrow it down to our top speller that day!  Some years, there is also a district round, which our top three spellers advance to.  We will let you know more about this in December.
