Red Pine has a D.A.R.E. program in each of our fifth grade classrooms.  Eagan police officer Dale Abram comes into each room for 45 minutes per week for the first 9 weeks of school.  The students learn about the laws and issues concerning drugs, and they develop skills to say “no” to alcohol and other drugs.  The program complements our health curriculum in fifth grade. D.A.R.E.  ends with graduation on Tuesday, December 2nd at 7PM.  There are D.A.R.E. student speeches that night, and each student receives a D.A.R.E. diploma.  Our music specialist, Laurie Herman, teaches the students songs related to D.A.R.E. and they perform these songs that evening, so it is an evening you will not want to miss!
