Welcome

Rosemount Middle School

Welcome to the Rosemount Middle School. Our goal is to help every student reach his or her full potential. We believe that the whole child's development of personal, social, physical, and academic skills is critical for success in life. We want every student to have success in the classroom and also in before and after school experiences. Whether you're a parent, student or community member, our intent is for you to feel welcome in our school.

  • Author Visits RMS

Author, Ally Carter, visited students at Rosemount Middle School on January 28th. Over 200 students attended her presentation followed by a book-signing. Ms. Carter spoke about her start as a writer, how the publishing process works and the inspirations for her stories.

Ally Carter was born and raised in Oklahoma. Her books have been published in more than twenty countries and have appeared on best-seller lists from the New York Times, USA Today, the Wall Street Journal, and many more!

Ally Carter first got the writing bug as a young teen. The book, The Outsiders, was a favorite at that time and when she found out that the author of that book was close to her age and lived close to where she was from she thought she should give it a try!

Her inspiration to write comes from everywhere including her breakfast cereal! And her favorite part about being a writer is that she is gets to do exactly what she wanted to do when she was 12 years old and she gets to do it in her pajamas.

Her series includes Heist Society, Gallager Girls, and her current series Embassy Row.

RMS Math League Takes First Place

The RMS math team is the 2016 Math League Dakota Division Champions! Students compete in 5 individual meets with the 5 other middle schools in District 196. Scores from each week are compiled to determine the overall team champions. Students also compete to place individually. 175 students from across the district are participants in math league. • RMS Hope for Tomorrow Mentoring Program wins a Community Award

Our mentoring program, Hope For Tomorrow, has been awarded a Community Award from the Touchstone Energy board of directors (Dakota Electric is a Touchstone Energy partner). This is a testament to the difference our mentors are making in the lives of the 8th grade boys they are mentoring. Congratulations to this special group! This is a $500 award and it was for last year when we started the program for our 8th grade boys. Part of the award criteria was the impact they are having on the community so the fact that our program has expanded and is now including the girls chapter was also helpful in winning the award. Learn more about Hope for Tomorrow here.
