RES School Nurse - Mrs. Fifield Some tips from the Nurse’s office…
PLEASE follow these guidelines regarding illness: * Temperature should be normal (below 100.0) 24 hours
BEFORE returning to school. The single most effective thing you can do to prevent the spread of disease is to wash your hands thoroughly and often! The cold and flu are spread by either directly touching respiratory secretions on another person, such as in handshaking or through indirect contact with secretions in the environment, such as being sneezed on by the person next to you. Cold weather does NOT cause colds or illness. For this reason, all students are encouraged to go outside for recess unless they have a physician note to stay indoors. Please make sure your child is dressed (snowpants, boots, hat and mittens) for the weather everyday. We see more illness in the cold months because germs thrive on living in warm environments and we spend more time indoors than outdoors in the winter. Since germs are transmitted through direct contact, handwashing is the single most effective thing an individual can do to prevent the spread of germs and to help stay healthy! FOR THE PROTECTION OF OTHER CHILDREN AND OUR STAFF HERE AT SCHOOL, PLEASE FOLLOW THE ABOVE GUIDELINES. If you have any questions please do not hesitate to call me. You can reach me at 651-423-7692 Monday through Friday from 9:00 to 4:00. Thank you, |
