Music Class

Welcome to the classroom vocal music site for Pinewood Community School.  The textbook series we use is called, Spotlight on Music, by Macmillan.  The focus is on student creativity, self expression, music reading, and multicultural awareness.  My goal as the music specialist is to provide opportunities for students to learn musical concepts by participating in singing activities/games, active listening lessons, classroom instrument playing and movement.  

Students in grades one through five demonstrate their musical skills and growth during a music program performed for families and friends. Second through fifth grade students have the opportunity to sign up for the Music Explore.  Those students in the Music Explore class perform the special parts in the program such as instruments, solos, narration lines, or dances.  All first graders are in the Music Explore class automatically.
