PARKVIEW PTO MEETING
MINUTES
OCTOBER 20, 2009 @ 6:30 p.m.
Attendance:
Staff: Pamela Haldeman, Kari Sohlberg, Helen Jacobse, Amy Wallenta, Stephanie Swanson, Susan Ostbloom, Kristy Cross, Becky Bowman, Phyllis Paetznick
Parents: Chris Myrah, Shelly Larson, Dawn Morrison, Nici Dunn, Barb Luzum, Tara Roeckers, Fieilya Wafa, Karen Moerke, Abraham Togbah, Christy Vaillant, Victor Pyne, Kris Sieve, Ed Sieve, Shannon Bauer, Tracey Baehler, Chris Noonkesser, Angie Talbot
Speaker:
Superintendent Jane Berenz gave an introductory speech and talked about current School District issues such as the H1N1 and growth of our school/district.
Treasurer’s Report:
1. Proposed budget for 2009-2010 was approved.
Principal’s Report:
1. A .5 Math teacher has been hired, Dawn Coats. Also hired a 2 hr/day clerical person, Melissa Wallrich.
2. There will be a free parenting seminar put on by the Community Ed on Saturday, November 7, 2009.
President’s Report:
1. Innisbrook fundraiser raised $12,300 toward our $15,000 goal. This means we need to make at least $3,000 on the upcoming cookie dough sale. We had 31% participation in the Innisbrook fundraiser. We also had between $300 and $400 donated to the PTO.
2. Top seller for Innisbrook was Bradon Lecher who won the Water Park of America pass. Names of the other top sellers were put into a drawing where Jack Morrison won another Water Park of America pass.
3. Ideas for a “giving tree” were suggested where we could put items that the school needs, both big and small, where parents can donate as they wish.
4. Teachers will also have donation ideas for their specific classrooms on apples cut out of paper.
5. Barb Luzum passed around a brochure of the Spirit Wear t-shirts that should be available for ordering at conference time.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:30 p.m. Next PTO meeting is scheduled for November 17, 2009, at 6:30 p.m. with a speaker starting at 6:00 p.m.
