PTO Meeting Minutes September 18, 2007 6:30 pm
Attendance: Staff: Pam Haldeman, Helen Jacobse, Mary Beth Peter, Margaret Swanson, Tracy Ryan Parents: Stefani Stuckey, Laurie Carr, Dawn Morrison, Nici Dunn, Shelly Larson, Tracy Baehler, Lauren West, Jenny Mattson, Kelli Linnerooth, Barb Drexler-Luzum, Jon Ofstad, Kristi Anderson, Jody Polson
Welcome to the first Parkview PTO meeting of the 2007-2008 school year.
Introductions: 2007-2008 PTO Board Members. President/Co-President: Kelli Linnerooth and Barb Drexler-Luzum Vice-President: Jon Ofstad Secretary: Jody Polson Treasurer: Kristi Anderson
Secretary’s Report: No new minutes to report.
Treasurer’s Report: The first vote passed on the 2007-2008 budget report. A second vote will be held at the next meeting. We currently have a cash balance of $2,363 as of 9/18/07 Projected Unrestricted funds at year end 6/30/07 were $3,000. A budget report was handed out to all attendees.
Principal’s Report: Currently, we are starting the school year with approximately 685 students. New Staff Lounge: Thank you to the PTO board and Parkview parents that donated their time to help remodel the staff lounge. New Staff: Please take a moment to welcome new staff members to Parkview. Kim Zschunke our new building secretary. Teresa Matanich, Susan Honadel in kindergarten and kindergarten plus. Cindy Larson our new band director. After school Classes: Parkview will once again offer after school classes. Busing will be provided. Fall after school classes will start the week of October 22nd through November 30th. We are currently working on the traffic flow in the parking lot before and after school.
President’s Report: The PTO website is up and running please take a minute and check it out. www.district196.org/pv/pto From the website you will be able to access volunteer opportunities, calendar of events and PTO news from this site. Thank you, Jon Ofstad for getting this great tool up and running. Way to go. This will help reduce the use of extra paper.
Upcoming Events: Book Fair Dates: Thursday, 10/11 from 9:00-4:00 Friday, 10/12 from 9:00-4:00 Monday, 10/15 from 4:00-8:00 Tuesday, 10/ 16 from 8:00-8:00 Culver’s day: Thursday, October 25th. Meet your friends and PV staff between 5:00-7:00 pm. Please be sure to mention that you are with Parkview when you place your order. Parkview receives 15% back on purchases the entire day.
Looking ahead: Spring Carnival is scheduled for Friday, May 16th 4:30pm-8:30pm Carnival Committee Chairs please contact Lauren West-612-242-1723 Stacy Stucker-952-953-3247 Dad’s Day is scheduled for May 16th 2008
