PTO meeting Minutes
November 14, 2006 6:30 pm
Attendance:
Staff: Pam Haldeman, Helen Jacobse, Margaret Thompson, Charlotte Screnock, Marlae Newman, Margaret Lunn, Heidi Setterlund
Parents: Carolyn Neubauer, James and Laura Petersen, Miki Stone, Gisell Riggen, Satya Ganddikota, Shelly Larson, Darrin Larson, Ray Fugitt, Deanna Miller, Deborah Poehler, Valerie Moore, Kelli Linnerooth, Kristi Anderson and Jody Polson.
Secretary’s Report: Minutes from October, Motion to Approve. Seconded, Motion carried.
Treasurer’s Report: The Budget Report for the 2006-2007 school year received its second approval.
Volunteer Report: 3rd grade dose not have a grade level coordinator, all homeroom moms are responsible planning their class holiday parties for the entire school year. Please talk with your child’s teacher to get ideas, funds for the expenses and volunteers for the upcoming parties.
Advisory Council Update: The Advisory Council meets every 4th Tuesday of the Month in the library at 4:00pm. The Advisory council has many literacy projects that they are focusing on. They will kick off Usborne Reach for the stars Read–a-Thon in January, followed by an Usborne book fair and Spaghetti Dinner. This year, Students will be able to collect 100% of their pledges in Usborne books. In March, they will be hosting a Family Reading Night with a story teller, Scholastic book fair and other reading related events.
Principal’s Report: We are pleased to announce a visit from Mary Casanova. She will be at Parkview on Thursday, November 16th 2006 for a Presentation to all students and a book signing. The Parkview teaching staff would like to thank all of the generous parents who provided food for our conference dinners. Your child will be bringing home his/her 1st trimester Report card on Friday, December 8, 2006.
President’s Report: Open Gym Night was a huge hit. We had approximately 45-55 families attend last week. The next open Gym night is scheduled on November 10th
Fundraising
Sally Foster: Our sales were about the same as last year. Sally Fosters orders will be available for pick up on November 17th.
Tile Fundraiser: Decorated tiles should be on display by Wednesday December 20th. This is also the day of the Holiday Party.
Culvers Night: Remember to mention Parkview when you place your order on Culvers day. Parkview PTO receives a 15% kick back on purchases for the entire day. November 13th is the next culvers day.
