PTO Meeting Minutes
March 18, 2008

Secretary's Report: Minutes from February 2008.
Motion to Approve, Seconded, Motion Carried.

Treasurer's Report:
2007-2008 Cash Position Report and the Fundraiser Projection were handed out.

Principal's Report:
On Thursday, March 13 there were three musical groups that presented concerts. The Fourth Grade, Fifth Grade, and Di Capo Choir all gave afternoon and evening performances. Thank You to Mrs. Borgen for her musical talents.
After school Classes:
The after school program for the winter session has just finished! We are proud of the exciting variety of classes that was offered to all Parkview students. Between January 28th and March 13th, students extended their school day to study, read, explore, and learn in new and exciting ways.

Getting ready for next year
Hiring is underway for the 2008-2009 school year.
Parkview will be adding an additional 3 grade class next year.
110 new kindergarteners have registered with 142 projected.

Family Resource Area in the library
We hope to make this area at Parkview at great resource for parents, with a variety of topics. We will have more information to follow at the April PTO Meeting.

Advisory Council-Sponsored Read-a-Thon and Barnes & Noble Book Fair
Parkview will kick-off its third annual Read-a-Thon on Monday, March 31st.
The read-a-Thon will conclude with a Barnes and Noble bookfair on Thursday April 24th. More information on this program will be sent home with students on Monday March 31st.
Parkview PTO Scholarship
We are currently accepting applications from previous Parkview students for our $500 post high school scholarship. If you know any past Parkview students graduating this school year, please ask then to contact their high school counselor for an application and more information.
Scripts Update:
Just a reminder, you may purchase gift cards from a variety of vendors that we have on hand every Friday at Parkview.
Tool Box: All the requested school supplies for each grade level would be in this Tool Box. There will be an opportunity to order the Tool Box at the Carnival. There will be more information to follow in the months ahead.

Parkview Elementary Sign
Thank you to Shelly Larson a Parkview Parent, for making great contacts for Parkview to have a permanent sign that would be locate on or near the corner of Foliage and Gerdine Path. There will be more information to follow at the next PTO meeting.
