Welcome to the Parkview Library Media Center

Students are welcome all day, every day for browsing, checking out books, reading, using computers, CD-ROMs, reading magazines and newspapers, and doing research.

Students also come with their class to the Library Media Center for fifty minutes once every six cycle days. Skills that children learn include: how to access fiction, non-fiction, reference, periodicals, and vertical file; how to use the computer search stations to locate materials and use our on-line resources, literature appreciation, including Caldecott and Newbery award winning books, and Maud Hart Lovelace award books. We also emphasize good citizenship, through respectful use and care for library materials.

All students can check out new books each day, not just on their scheduled library day. It's important to us that each student always has something to read.  All students in grades one through five have their own library folder, which is used as their “library card.” We feel our students are responsible and they take great pride in our library.
