What is Reading Recovery?

Reading Recovery is an early intervention program for first graders. It provides daily individual instruction for struggling readers by building on what the child can do. Every lesson has both reading and writing activities designed to meet a particular child's needs. The goal is to develop early reading strategies at an accelerated pace so the child can benefit from classroom instruction.
