Fifth Grade students participate in the D.A.R.E. program. D.A.R.E. stands for Drug Abuse Resistance Education. This seventeen-week program is taught by a specially trained, uniformed law officer. D.A.R.E. is designed to help students understand laws and issues surrounding drugs, develop skills to say no to drugs and alcohol, and discuss the consequences and alternatives to these chemicals. At the end of the program, a special graduation is held to recognize student’s completion of the program and commitment to be drug free. By completing D.A.R.E., students join others from around the world that have also chosen to be drug-free. This year's DARE graduation will take place on Friday, May 23rd from 1:30 t0 2:30 PM at Northview.
