Character Counts is a school wide program that focuses on six character traits: Respect, Caring, Citizenship, Trustworthiness, Fairness, and Responsibility.
Character Club is an important component of the Character Counts program. Three times throughout the year, students meet in cross-age groups and participate in fun activities related to the six character traits.
Each fall, Northview holds a Character Counts Lyceum where staff members perform skits that emphasize the six character traits. In addition, the Northview Clerks are introduced to students, and they explain guidelines and expectations for the lunchroom and playground. The lyceum ends with a presentation showing Northview students demonstrating the six character traits.
