The ELL program is for the instruction of students of limited English proficiency in the following English language skills: reading, writing, listening and speaking. The students typically have first learned a language other than English and come from a home where the language usually spoken is other than English. The ELL students at Highland represent a wide variety of language groups.
ELL teachers work with students in small groups for instruction. The amount of instruction depends on how proficient the student is. Instruction times can range from 30-60 minutes for 2-5 days per week.
