Mission
The mission of the school nurse is to facilitate and strengthen
the educational process by improving and protecting the health status
of students. School nurses identify and assist the removal or modification
of health-related barriers to learning.
Keep your child home from school when:
| |
They have experienced vomiting or diarrhea
within the last 24 hours; |
| |
They have had a fever of 100.0 degrees or more within
the last 24 hours; |
| |
They have signs of contagious diseases such as strep
throat, pink eye, impetigo, ringworm, etc. - children
may return to school after they have been on medication
for 24 hours; |
| |
They are waiting for a strep throat culture to be
read; |
| |
They have head lice - children may return to school
when they are treated, are nit-free and seen by the school
nurse, or |
| |
They have had chicken pox for 7-10 days or until scabs
are dry. |
