 PARENT INFORMATION 

Managing your Teenage Driver will be held on Thursday, November 15 at 7:00 pm in the EVHS Media Center:  This will be presented by one of EVHS’s Safety Education teachers who will give you information about Eastview’s safety education course, how you can help your student be a safe driver and tips on how to parent your teenage driver.

 

Attention parents:  Eastview NHS students will be “trick or treating” for the Dakota County Food Shelf this evening.  If you get a knock on your door, please consider donating a few canned goods to replenish our local food shelf.  Thank you from Eastview’s National Honor Society.

 

Parents of Girls Tennis players:  Our last session for poster and memory book making is tomorrow night at 7:00 pm in the Commons.  If you have not completed your daughter's poster/memory book page, please come to this session.

 

Attention parents of all Boys basketball players. The next 6th Man Club meeting of the year will be held Monday, November 5 at 7:00 pm in Room C350.

The deadline for Senior Portraits and Grad Ads is tomorrow, November 1. A very high volume are being sent in at this time. We are keeping track as we process hundreds of orders. After the deadline date is past, we will create a list of names to post on our web page verifying that photos have been submitted and orders placed for Yearbooks and Grad Ads. We will contact anyone who is missing a Senior Portrait, or has a problem with their order. Please DO NOT contact photo studios or Eastview’s Main Office at this time. The Verification List is being prepared now and will soon be available for you to check. A notification that the list has been posted will be announced as soon as we can possibly provide the information. Thanks for your patience.

 

GENERAL ANNOUNCEMENTS

Applebee's Pancake Breakfast! Come be served breakfast at the AV Applebee's by one our EV football players on Saturday, November 3 from 8-10 am. Breakfast includes pancakes, sausage, eggs & juice for $5.  All proceeds go to the EV Football Boosters to support the FB program.

 

Registration for Quarter Two Extended Day (8th) hour classes is now open.  8th hour classes are offered to students who need to make up credit in any of the following subjects: English; Social Studies; Math; Science; Wellness; and Basic Standard Test Tutoring.  These classes are available at no cost to Eastview students and are held from 2:30 pm – 3:50 pm, Tuesday – Thursday.  The courses will begin on Tuesday November 13 and end on Thursday January 31.  Registration forms are available in the Guidance Department; the deadline for registering is Monday November 5.

 

Seniors: Tomorrow is the last day to submit Grad Ad orders or Senior Portraits for the yearbook.

 

COLLEGEAND SCHOLARSHIP INFORMATION                                                                                         

Seniors!!!  The Burger King Scholarship application is available at www.bk.com/scholars   Criteria to apply include working  part-time on an average of 15 hours a week anywhere, involved in community service activities and demonstrate financial need.  See Guidance Office for further information.  Applications are available online thru February 15.

 

Registration for the December 8t ACT Test is Friday, November 2.

ATHLETIC ANNOUNCEMENTS                                                                                                

All boys in grades 10-12 who plan on playing Boys Basketball this winter are reminded to turn in participation cards tomorrow to Coach Harris.  Coach Harris is available at, or near the Attendance Office each morning.

 

All 9th Grade Boys interested in playing Basketball this winter should attend a mandatory meeting tomorrow at 3:15 pm in Room A204.  All requirements and expectations for tryouts and the season will be communicated.  This is a mandatory meeting if you plan on playing 9th grade boys basketball this winter.  See coach Gerber with any questions.

 

There will be an informational meeting today at 2:35 pm in Room C136 for all 10th – 12th grade Girls interested in playing Basketball this season.  Contact Coach Goetz if you have questions.

 

Girls Cross Country -. The State Meet is Saturday, November 3. The banquet will be on the November 20, with food being served at 6:30.

 

Cross Country State Meet Info:  Anne Ferguson runs at 10:00 the boys will follow at 11:00. The meet will be held at St Olaf in Northfield Saturday, November 3.

 

Attention Eastview Football Fans!  Eastview’s National Honor Society invites you WEAR BLACK (Storm Front t-shirts if you have one) to the Section Championship football game at home on Friday, beginning at 7:00 pm against Apple Valley!  Help cheer on the Lightning to a Section Championship and on to the State Tournament with the victory!  WEAR BLACK, CHEER AS ONE!!!  GO LIGHTNING!!!!

 

Presale football tickets for the section championship game against Apple Valley on Friday will be available in the Main Office beginning tomorrow at 7:00 am until 3:00 on Friday.  Cost is $6 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens.  District & Lake Conference passes are not accepted for this game.

 

There will be a meeting tomorrow at 7:00 am in Room C250 for all interested in playing Boys Hockey

 

The Boys Soccer Banquet for all teams (9a/10a/JV/Varsity) is scheduled for Sunday, November 11 at 1:00 pm.  Please mark your calendars.  More information is forthcoming.

Congratulations to Freshman Brianne Price for being selected to the State Tourney All Tournament AA Girls Soccer team.  Great job Brianne! 

 

The Volleyball team wants to invite you to their section semi-final match against Lakeville North at South St. Paul High School.  There is going to be a free fan bus that leaves school at 6:30.  Sign up at lunch today in the Commons.

                            

SPORT SCORES                                                                                              

The Volleyball Program would like to say “thank you” to all the parents, teachers, administrators & students who supported the team throughout a great season that ended with a loss in a highly competitive match against #1 seeded Lakeville North last night.  Kaiti Wachter had 27 digs, Lauren Grant had 9 blocks, Kayla Joyce & Stephanie Kent had 6 kills & Anna Olson came out with 27 assists.

 

ARTS AND ACTIVITIES                                                                                           

The Chess Team won their 26th straight match as they defeated Apple Valley 3 to 2.  Juniors Zach Elinson and Myles Burgeson had key wins for the Lightning.  For the second year in a row, the chess team won their conference with a record of 10 – 0.  Great job on another awesome season!

 

All FCCLA members should plan on attending the M&M chapter meeting on November 5 at 7:00 pm.

 

LEAP members and others interested in touring the Dakota County Eco-site in Eagan.  Please let Ms. Porterfield (C337) know TODAY if you plan on attending tomorrow.

 

The Math Team will hold its first scoring team practice tomorrow after school in room C134.  If you cannot make tomorrow’s meeting but you still want a shot at being on the scoring team, please see Mr. Haugh in Office A110 to schedule a makeup.

 

If you are interested in joining Student Council pick up an application outside Room C336.

 

EVHS students who have not picked up their Spring Supplement - a limited number of copies are still available and can be picked up in the Main Office.
