child's high school experience? The 2010 Senior Party Planning
Committee is looking for lots of dedicated parents to help plan this ye=

event. Molly Gantz will be leading this year's party planning
committee. We are looking for parents to chair (or co-chair) many of =
the
committees for next year's party. The looks and feedback from the stud=
ents
as they stepped into the "SS Lightening" last year after graduati=

little bit interested come and see what it's all about. Last year we =

over 150 parents volunteer to make the party a success. Let's show our
kids what the parents of the class of 2010 can do when we put our collective
heads together. We need committee heads for decorating, games, Casino,
Food, Fund Raising and several other committees. I also nee=

organized individual to be our secretary and volunteer coordinator.

are asking that all EVHS students return their Emergency Cards as so=

(PAK) meeting - Please note that the correct date for the first PAK meeting=

the year is Monday, September 21. We will be meeting at 7:00 pm in the
EVHS Career Center to discuss the various parent volunteer opportunities and
other PAK activities that support EVHS students and staff. All EVHS

filling for the Eastview ACT Prep Courses being
offered in preparation for the October 24 ACT Test. The course provid=
es 15+
hours of focused study in preparation for the ACT Test. By design, the
course provides trained teachers who will navigate you through the ACT test=
ing
process. Classroom time will focus on understanding the format of the
test, building strategies for answering more questions correctly and pacing
yourself during a timed test. We also provide an opportunity to take a
mock test under actual testing conditions. Students build confidence and sk=
ills
that will boost their scores on the actual test. Students will =
have
access to hundreds of practice questions. The cost of the program is =
$150
and scholarships are available for students who need financial assistance (=
see
your counselor). Whether you have taken the ACT test before or you are
new to the experience, we will prepare you to do your personal best.

Eastview School Store is now open daily. Make sure to stop dow=

check it out. The school store is located at the east end of the
Commons. We are open before school and the first twenty minutes of ho=

one through four. We offer a variety of breakfast items, drinks, and
snacks as well as lightning apparel and school supplies. Don’t =
miss
out!
The
Lightning Cafe is now open until 3:00 pm every day. We will serve fr=
esh
baked cookies, snacks and drinks. Come and get free birthday cookies once a
year for your birthday when you show your student ID. We are located on the
lower level outside the Gym and music rooms......just follow the smell of

Boys Cross Country team for their second place finish right behind #4
ranked Stillwater and the Rochester Mayo Invitational on Thursday. The
Lightning were led by Senior Captain Michael Griepp who finished 7th
and along with the first eight runners in the race to break the course
record. Also scoring for Eastview were Sophomore Ken Hoffman (12), Ju=
nior
Erik Rosvold (14), Junior Tim Jurney (18), and Senior Scott Fusco (19).

Cross Country teams today in Rochester. The Varsity team finishe=

runners finished in the top 25 out of a field of 130 runners. Anne Ferguson=

Courtney Conroy 16th and Rebecca Pachuta 22nd. =

earning their second shutout of the season.

MacMillan headed one in the back of the net off a corner kick from Brianne
Price. The game went into overtime, but neither team was able to score
that winning goal. Congratulations on a tough game. Come support
the Lightning next week as they face two more top ten ranked teams.
