Congratulations to the Junior Varsity Cross Country team for taking the first six places and seven of the first ten places in posting a perfect score to win the Dick Mitchell Invitational on Thursday.  Leading the way and winning his second meet of the season was Sophomore Michael Griepp.  Michael was followed by Junior John Cayton 2nd; Junior Ian Sharp 3rd; Junior Scott Wobschall 4th; Freshman Hunter Abramson 5th; Freshman Erik Rosvold 6th; and Senior Michael Mittelsteadt 8th.  Also earning awards were Freshman Gavin Carleton 11th; Sophomore Ross Nygren 13th; Junior Peter Bryan 14th; Sophomore Brian Rush 16th; Freshman Tim Jurney 22nd; Junior Nick Andresen 27th; and Senior Michael Peterson 30th.

The Boys Varsity Soccer team lost a tough battle to first place Lakeville North 2-1 last night.  The team dominated most of possession, but could not find the back of the net enough to turn the flow of the game in their favor.  The team faces off against Kennedy at 11:00 am on Saturday at home.  This game will be extra special for Seniors Peter Osborn, Josh Lee, Taylor Spanton, Tanner Lother, Reagan Eggert and Tyler Trombley as we honor them for their commitment and dedication to the program.

The JV Boys Soccer team played last night at Lakeville. The field conditions keep the team from really flowing well.  Adam Moore Scored his 9th -10th goal of the year, and Matt Balserzack had a nice goal in the first half.   The score ended 3-1 which puts us to a impressive 12-2-1 on the year. The next game is tonight hosting
Bloomington Kennedy.

10th Grade Boys Soccer continued their winning season with a 1-0 win over Lakeville North, goal scored by Sammy, great goaltending by Grady Steele also.

After a sluggish start the Lightning Varsity Girls' Soccer team slowly wore out a spirited Lakeville North squad.  Meaghan Brigl got the first goal of the game midway through the second half off an assist by Jessie Huff.  Marissa Price scored several minutes later off an assist by Sammy Zieminski.  Overall a strong effort by the Lightning, with everyone playing and contributing.  The defense of Sammy Zieminski, Sarah Ake, Taylor Allen, Christine Fries, Heather Walls, and Kelsey North and goalkeeper Sam Mehr earned the shut out, the 11th of the season for the Lightning squad.  The Lightning return to action tomorrow at home at 1:00 against Bloomington Kennedy.  At that game we honor our 14 seniors and their parents.  Be there, we appreciate your support!

Congratulations to the Girls JV Soccer team who beat Lakeville North yesterday 3-0.  The Lightning play back to back games facing conference foe Bloomington Kennedy today.  Wish the girls luck as they look for their 16th consecutive win!

The Lightning Girls Swim and Dive team continued its unbeaten streak with a victory over Eagan last night by a score of 103-78.  Taking first for the Lightning were; Kayla Hutsell in the 200 IM and 100 Butterfly, Andrea Chvatal in the 50 free and 100 Backstroke, Brianna Denny in diving, Amy Rux in the 100 Free and the Lightning also won all 3 Relays.  Freshman Kayla Hutsell broke her own school record and the pool record in the 100 butterfly she is currently ranked 1st in the state in that event and the team is ranked 10th

The Varsity Volleyball team beat Jefferson last night in 3 easy games.  In those 3 games Steph Kent tallies 12 aces and 8 kills, Lauren Grant had 7 blocks & 8 kills, and Karlee Lursen had 7 kills with no errors.  The team is at home against Rosemount next Tuesday for the Homecoming Game!!!
