SPORT SCORES

The Boys Varsity Soccer team fought out a highly entertaining 2-2 tie with Lake Conference foe Jefferson this past Saturday.  Scoring for your Lightning were Junior Dan Volk off and assist by Sophomore JJ Zieminski and a penalty kick by Senior Taylor Spanton

Any win in the always tough Lake Conference is always a good win. The Eastview Lightning Varsity Girls Soccer got a good win over a tough Bloomington Jefferson team last Saturday. After a scoreless and hard fought first half, Eastview started to gain possession and create a few more scoring opportunites. Eventually the game's only goal was scored by defender Sarah Ake off an assist from Marissa Price. Sarah's first goal of the season was a beautiful shot that hit the upper corner of the net . Goalie Sam Mehr recorded her 8th shut out for the season as she had to save 7 Jefferson shots. The Lightning are now 9-0-1 and resume play on the road Tuesday at Burnsville another Lake Conference opponent.

Congratulations to the Girls JV Soccer team who added another win to their record on Friday.  The Lightning beat a quality Jefferson team 2-0.  Great teamwork and patience was key in the victory.  Come support the team as they take on Burnsville Tuesday and crosstown rival Rosemount this Thursday at home.

The Lightning Girls Sophomore Soccer team had a great win against Bloomington Jefferson 6-1. We had a lot of different players contributing to this win. Katie Pendino scored our first goal with an assist from Amy Traub. Amy Traub had a goal with an assist from Moe Shea. Maddie Kistner scored with an assist from Katie Pendino. Taylor Sabrowski scored wih an assist from Bri MacDonald. Kelly Uhrich scored an unassisted goal. Our final goal came from Sydney Elling with an assist from Maddie Kistner. Our defense line of Annika Torbinson, Fumni Adams, Gia Blake and Bri MacDonald stayed strong through the whole game.

The Girls Varsity Tennis team competed in the Jim Jones Tennis Classic in Edina on Saturday against the top teams in State. We went 0-3 but the girls were a few points away from going 2-1 The girls opened against #2 Rochester Mayo and were defeated 5-2, Then took on a top 5 team in Rochester Century and lost and very close match 4-3 ( 3 matches were decided my third set tiebreakers) In the final match 6-1/2 hrs later the girls gave it there all but came up short against Elk River 4-3 All girls played with great heart and gave it there all, were proud of all of them. Next up for the Girls are the Eagles of Eden Prairie Tuesday at EP
