PARENT INFORMATION
All EVHS parents are invited to EVHS’s parent volunteer
organization, Parents Are Key
(PAK). We will meet on Monday, September 17 at 7:00 pm in the
Perspectives
on Parenting, a series of seminars for parents, is sponsoring a
seminar entitled, “College Application
Process for Seniors and Their Parents” on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 pm
in the
A few 2006-2007 Yearbooks (last
year) are still available. These books can be purchased for $30 in the
Main Office.
Parents of Eastview High School Seniors are invited to our 2008 Senior Party Planning Meeting
tonight at 7:00 pm in Room C350. All current committee members will be
present and we are looking for committee chair positions in prizes, decorations
and entertainment. Volunteer positions are currently available in all areas.
Please plan to attend to learn more about the party and to learn how you can
help.
The Girls’ Cross
Country team is finishing up their fundraiser, and they have a few Von Hanson’s coupons for meats left to
sell. If interested in making a purchase please contact Jorjean Fischer through

The Lightning Café will begin
selling Panini sandwiches beginning
Tuesday September 11. These are cold sandwiches on nice Panini bread;
choices are Ham, Turkey, Roast Beef, and Chicken Caesar.
Come down after school to the Café and enjoy any of our healthier than vending
machine alternatives for your afternoon snack!

Eastview Community Foundation’s first Fun
Ride on Saturday September 29. All monies raised go back to the
Eastview Community Foundation, and you can chose which high school organization
you’d like to support. (Band, a specific sport, etc.) More

Honors
transcripts for grades 10 - 12 will be available for students to
pick up in the Guidance Office during 5th period. See Mrs.
Gerrits in the Guidance Office if you have any questions regarding your honors
transcripts.

attend the Fairview Health Services HEALTH CARE CAREER EXPO, Wednesday,
September 12 from Non to 5:00 p.m. at the Sheraton Four Points Hotel, 1330
Industrial Blvd. Minneapolis, MN. There is no cost to attend, parking is free

Any student who ordered a yearbook
last year may pick up their
2006-2007 Flashback Video Yearbook DVD
in the TV Studio or in the Main Office. All 2007 graduates may pick up
their video yearbooks in the Main Office. See Mr. Krebs or Mr. Fornicoia
with questions.
Perspectives
on Parenting, a series of seminars for parents, is sponsoring a
seminar entitled, “College Application
Process for Seniors and Their Parents” on Tuesday, September 18 at 7:00 pm
in the EVHS Media Center. Seniors and their parents are invited to the
informational meeting that outlines the college application process including
the explanation of various deadlines, ACT and SAT tests, how to choose a
college, letters of recommendation, college essays, etc.
COLLEGE INFORMATION
A representative from Vanderbilt University will be in the Career Center
on Thursday, September 13 during 1st hour.
Reminder to parents of all Girls Tennis Players: Booster
Club meeting is tonight at 7:00 pm in Room C250. Hope to see you there!
The Fall Intramural season has now
arrived!!! We are now taking registrations for IM Flag Football and IM
Badminton. Registration forms are now available in the Main Office
for both of these activities. We are also looking at adding IM Kickball and IM Volleyball if there is enough interest. In order to
determine interest for these two activities there will be a sign-up form in the
Main Office. We will determine if there is enough interest to make these
two sports an option this fall by the number of students on the list by this
Friday. If you are interested be sure to stop by this week and get your
name on the list!
SPORT SCORES
The Girls 9B soccer team lost their game last night to
a strong Eagan squad 4-2. Goals were
scored by Lauren Adelmann and Allie Kincade.
Amanda Nelson had another very strong game in net; making a number of
key saves to keep Eastview in the game.
The 9B squad is at Chaska tonight and at Eden Prairie tomorrow.
The Girls
Varsity Tennis team went over to Jefferson and took care of Business
defeating the Jags 7-0 it was nice to see everyone contribute. Next up Apple
Valley home tomorrow 3:30
ARTS AND ACTIVITIES
Attention Chess players! We will meet today, tomorrow and Thursday
after school in Room A205. Everyone is
welcome tot attend. Please see Mr.
Dettmer if you have any questions.
Students interested in joining the Debate
team should attend an informational meeting either today at 2:45 pm or
tomorrow at 7:10 am in A300.
FCCLA will be
having an M &M Mixer meeting on Thursday September 13 at 7:00 pm in Room
C139. Bring a friend and find out what great activities FCCLA has
planned for the fall. If you are unable to attend please see Mrs.
Hendrickson or Mrs. Svaren in C138. See you there!
The Lightning Press will have a
new member interest and story idea meeting today after school in C234.
Please attend one of the meetings if you’re interested in writing for the
newspaper. See Mr. Hokkanen in C3 if you have questions.
Attention all students interested in participating in LINC Service: There will be an informational meeting this
Thursday right after school and Friday morning at 7:00 am. You should
attend one of the two meetings. We will be discussing the Twin Cities Marathon, tutoring, and
other big fall events. If you’re looking for a way to give back to the
community, this is a great place to start!
Reminder: Musical
auditions for freshman and new students will be held tonight
from 6:30-8:30 in the Choir Room.
Quilt Club will
meet for an informational meeting in Room C139.
Do you wish you could Build, Design, and Program a robot while playing with
LEGOs? The Robotics Team will
hold their informational meeting tomorrow in the C1 cluster. We have many
girls signed up this year and are looking for even more. So,
everyone that is interested in Robotics, plus returning members, please come
from 2:30 to 3:30 to learn more about this year’s “Power Puzzle”
challenge! If you are interested but can’t attend, please contact Dr. Rob
Franchino.

joining the Eastview Steppers—we will have an informational meeting and
first practice today at 2:45 in the 3C locker bay. Anyone unable to

Want to get involved? JOIN Yearbook and make memories last forever! Page artists and
photographers are needed for the 2007-08 Yearbook staff! Applications are
in the Main Office. Yearbook meetings are held on Tuesdays and Thursdays
from 2:30 to 4:30 all year. For anyone interested and to find out how to
earn a letter, an Open House Info Meeting will be held today in B128 at 2:30.
