Watch your mailbox for information on the 2010 Senior Party= ! The Senior Party Committee will be mailing a packet to each senior family t= his week that contains critical information on the Senior Graduation Party to be held on Saturday, June 5. The mailing includes an information letter,= a ticket order form, a donation request form and information about the Varsity Paver Fundraiser. Buy your tickets now and save! Ticket prices = for the event are priced at $70 now through February 12. If you purchase between February 13 and June 4, they will cost $85 and $100 day of the party. The ticket is all inclusive and includes games, casino, entertainment, food and a special momento bag. Our funds are limited = and we rely on parents to purchase their tickets early and donate wherever they can. Seniors - Important College Application deadline information   =

Many colleges have application deadlines that are coming due v= ery soon. Tran= script Requests and all other supporting documents such as applications, recommendations, etc. should be submitted to the Guidance Office at least <= b>15 school days prior to the established deadline in order to guarantee on-time arrival. Check ALL applications for specific deadlines. Please make sure you have ordered your transcript(s) from Docufide and have sent your ACT scores by logging onto the ACT website at www.= act.org. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Gerrits in the Guidance Office. The following schools ha= ve specific deadlines.
U of= MN Twin Cities applications (deadline 12-15-09) must be submitted by November 20.

UW-M= adison applications (deadline 2-01-10) must be submitted by December 7.

All colleges with January 1 deadlines must be submitted to Guidance Office by December 2, for timely processing.

Girls' Cross Country team members that have not turned in their uniforms, or fund raising money should do so after school tomorrow in the Team Room at 2:30. Fines and fees will be assigned after that date.

The Girls' Cross Country team is selling Lightning logo socks aga= in this year. They are great workout socks and make great stocking stuffers. A= 3 pack is $12. Please contact jorjean.fischer@district196.org if you wo= uld like to help support the team and get some great socks.

All = 9A Volleyball players should sign up for a meeting with Coach Lieffort.&nb= sp; Meetings will be held after school this week. The sign-up sheet is outside Room C235.

(new= ) The Girls Varsity Hockey team opened their season with a rough and tumble 3-1 win over the Apple Valley Eagles Tuesday night at the AVSC. It was clear at the beginning of the first period that the Eagles had one game under their belt and where looking to earn city bragging rights. The Lightning eventually shook off the first game jitters = and notched the first goal of the season at 6:46 by Emily Snodgrass assisted by Sophie DesLauriers. Courtney Kukowski scored at 10:21 on a sweet pass from Laura Gengler and Amanda Parranto. The bright lights of Varsity hockey did = not scare 8^th grader Elizabeth Palmi. She scored her first Varsity g= oal at 3:18 of the second period, unassisted. The Eagles did not fly away at the site of Lightning in the third period. They scored at 1:23 of the period and pressured the Lightning until the very end. The Girls hockey team will trav= el to Eden Prairie on Tuesday night.

(new= ) The Girls JV Hockey team started off= the 2009-10 season with a convincing 6-0 win over cross town rival Apple Valley last night at the AVSC. Jill Jones started the scoring late in the first pe= riod with an assist going to Taylor Heppner. 38 seconds later Lindsay Koplitz sc= ored unassisted. The Lightning started the second period off with a quick goal at 1:22 by Heppner assisted by Koplitz and Jones. Shannon Field rifled a nifty shot in the upper corner at 6:08 of the period and the Lightning went in to= the locker room up 4-0. Eastview iced the game in the third period with a goal = from Sarah Mayer and another tally from Field. JV travels to Eden Prairie next Tuesday night.

(new= ) The November meeting of Best Buddies will be Friday, November 20, at 2:30 – 3:00 pm ONLY in C350. We will have a group picture taken for the yearbook, do disability training, a= nd plan for our next activity which is movie night. Hope to see many of = you there.

(new= ) Attention Business Professional members. The deadline to have registration fees paid and contests selected is this Friday, November 20.   Ms. Lencowski and Ms. Phe= lps will be available after school this week to help you select the contests th= at match your experience. It is not too late to get involved in BPA!&nbs= p; If you are registered for a business class this year and interested in participating in this student organization, please see Ms. Lencowski or Ms. Phelps in C238.

(new= ) The Eastview Debate team won 5 of t= he 7 divisions that it competed in at the Forest Lake tournament over the weekend. Congratulations to the following first place teams: Jessica Seline & Chris Klapperich, Varsity Public Forum; Mark Besonen & Paige Kelly, Varsity Classic; Adithya Balaji & Zane Larwood, JV Classic; Alex Leehan & Alex Sarno, Novice Public Forum; Ryan McGuire & Ashesh Rambachan, Novice Classic.

DECA= members will have a meeting today after sc= hool in C237. You only need to attend one of these meetings. It is v= ery important that you attend to get information regarding the December confere= nce as well as sign up for district competition that will be coming up in Janua= ry. There is still time to sign up for DECA if you would like to compete at the District Conference on January 8, if you are interested please see Ms. Mohr= in C238 as soon as possible.

FCA<= /span> is collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We’ve extended the deadline to drop off yo= ur shoe boxes to Friday November 20. If you are interested in putting together a gift box to be given to children around the world, please get information and/or drop off the boxes to Mrs. Cross in the Guidance Office.=

East= view’s REAL MEN READ enjoyed a fun conversation about the book, Bringing Down the House and really good food at Buffalo Wild Wings last Friday. We encourage ALL interested students to g= et a copy of the book and read it – we will meet on Friday, December 18 du= ring your lunch to eat pizza and talk about this engaging thriller! Tick= ets for the Sadie Hawkins Dance, held on Saturday November 21 from 8-11 pm, may be purchased for $6 in advance or $1= 0 at the door. All students are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance during lunch to eliminate having to wait in line at the dance. Tickets will be sold Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during lunch. Bring a can= ned good or hand sanitizer and get $1 off. Guests are welcome; all guests must register in the Main Office before the dance. Bring current school IDs= .
