Pers= pectives on Parenting sponsors the latest parenting seminar entitled: “Sexting, Texting = and Internet Safety” tonight at 7:00 pm at Falcon Ridge Middle School. Apple Valley Police and School Resource Officer, Doug Baird, = and Kim Martinson, EVHS Assistant Principal, will help parents understand the c= ell phone and internet world of our students from the school and law enforcemen= t perspectives. Find out how cell phones impact learning (benefits and risks), how to minimize the risks and how to help our children safely navigate our changing electronic world.

Watch your mailbox for information on the 2010 Senior Party= ! The Senior Party Committee will be mailing a packet to each senior family t= his week that contains critical information on the Senior Graduation Party to be held on Saturday, June 5. The mailing includes an information letter,= a ticket order form, a donation request form and information about the Varsity Paver Fundraiser. Buy your tickets now and save! Ticket prices = for the event are priced at $70 now through February 12. If you purchase between February 13 and June 4, they will cost $85 and $100 day of the party. The ticket is all inclusive and includes games, casino, entertainment, food and a special momento bag. Our funds are limited = and we rely on parents to purchase their tickets early and donate wherever they can. Seniors - Important College Application deadline information   =

Many colleges have application deadlines that are coming due v= ery soon. Tran= script Requests and all other supporting documents such as applications, recommendations, etc. should be submitted to the Guidance Office at least <= b>15 school days prior to the established deadline in order to guarantee on-time arrival. Check ALL applications for specific deadlines. Please make sure you have ordered your transcript(s) from Docufide and have sent your ACT scores by logging onto the ACT website at www.= act.org. If you have any questions please contact Mrs. Gerrits in the Guidance Office. The following schools ha= ve specific deadlines.
U of= MN Twin Cities applications (deadline 12-15-09) must be submitted by November 20.

UW-M= adison applications (deadline 2-01-10) must be submitted by December 7.

All colleges with January 1 deadlines must be submitted to Guidance Office by December 2, for timely processing.

(new) Girls' Cross Country team members that have not turned in their uniform= s, or fund raising money should do so after school on Thursday in the Team Roo= m at 2:30. Fines and fees will be assigned after that date.

The Girls' Cross Country team is selling Lightning logo socks aga= in this year. They are great workout socks and make great stocking stuffers. A= 3 pack is $12. Please contact jorjean.fischer@district196.org if you wo= uld like to help support the team and get some great socks.

DECA= members will have a meeting tomorrow befor= e or after school in C237. You only need to attend one of these meetings. It is very important that you attend to get information regarding the December conference as well as sign up for district competiti= on that will be coming up in January. There is still time to sign up for DECA = if you would like to compete at the District Conference on January 8, if you a= re interested please see Ms. Mohr in C238 as soon as possible.

FCA<= /span> is collecting shoeboxes for Operation Christmas Child. We’ve extended the deadline to drop off yo= ur shoe boxes to Friday November 20. If you are interested in putting together a gift box to be given to children around the world, please get information and/or drop off the boxes to Mrs. Cross in the Guidance Office.=

East= view’s REAL MEN READ enjoyed a fun conversation about the book, Bringing Down the House and really good food at Buffalo Wild Wings last Friday. Tick= ets for the Sadie Hawkins Dance, held on Saturday November 21 from 8-11 pm, may be purchased for $6 in advance or $1= 0 at the door. All students are encouraged to buy their tickets in advance during lunch to eliminate having to wait in line at the dance. Tickets will be sold Wednesday, Thursday and Friday during lunch. Bring a can= ned good or hand sanitizer and get $1 off. Guests are welcome; all guests must register in the Main Office before the dance. Bring current school IDs= .
