The Alpine Ski Boosters will be meeting on Monday, November 16, at 7:00 = pm in Room B125 at EVHS. We will discuss the upcoming race season and pa= rent volunteer opportunities, and answer any questions. All parents/guardi= ans of Alpine Team skiers are welcome!

There will be a Parents are Key (PAK) meeting on Tuesday, November 17 at 6= :00 pm at Falcon Ridge Middle School. Please note the earlier start time,= as we are meeting prior to the Perspectives on Parenting session. We will discuss the many parent volunteer opportunities still available. Pers= pectives on Parenting sponsors the latest parenting seminar entitled: “Sexting, Texting = and Internet Safety” on Tuesday, November 17 at 7:00 pm at Falcon Rid= ge Middle School. Apple Valley Police and School Resource Officer, Doug Baird, and Kim Martinson, EVHS Assistant Principal, will help parents understand the cell phone and internet world of our students from the school and law enforcement perspectives. Find out how cell phones impact learning (benefits and risks), how to minimize the risks and how to help our children safely navigate our changing electronic world.

The Senior Party Committee will be mailing a packet to each senior family t= his week that contains critical information on the Senior Graduation Party to be held on Saturday, June 5. The mailing includes an information letter,= a ticket order form, a donation request form and information about the Varsity Paver Fundraiser. Buy your tickets now and save! Ticket prices = for the event are priced at $70 now through February 12. If you purchase between February 13 and June 4, they will cost $85 and $100 day of the party. The ticket is all inclusive and includes games, casino, entertainment, food and a special momento bag. Our funds are limited = and we rely on parents to purchase their tickets early and donate wherever they can. 10th Annual TC Open Cheer Competition – this Sunday, November 15 - Eastview High School holds its annual cheer competition starting at 11:00 am. Please join us in cheering on your fellow cheerleaders from Eastv= iew and surrounding area schools and clubs. Cost is $7 for adults and $4= for students. Eastview students enter free when showing their student pho= to ID.

The Girls' Cross Country team is selling Lightning logo socks aga= in this year. They are great workout socks and make great stocking stuffers. A= 3 pack is $12. Please contact jorjean.fischer@district196.org if you wo= uld like to help support the team and get some great socks.

With Lightning Varsity Football team’s win last w= eek now they advance to the State Quarterfinals vs. Cretin-Derham Hall tomorrow night at 6:00 pm at Griffin Stadium on the campus of St. Paul Central High School (please note the day and start time!) Pre-Sale Tickets will b= e on sale through 2:45 pm today in the Main Office. Cost for State Tournament Tickets is $8.00 for Adults and $5.00 for Students in grades K-12. Children Pre-K and under are admitted free. There is no Senior Citizen discount for MSHSL State Tournament events. Due to the lack of available parking near the stadium and from previous experience at this ven= ue we strongly encourage you to also sign up for the Student/Parent Fan Bus= . Cost of the fan bus is $5 per person. Buses will leave from the EVHS = West lot at 4:45 pm on Saturday and return immediately following the game. Sign-up for the fan buses will continue through 3:00 pm today in the Main Office.

DECA= members will have a meeting on Wednesday, November 18 before or after school in C237. You only need to attend o= ne of these meetings. It is very important that you attend to get information regarding the December conference as well as sign up for distri= ct competition that will be coming up in January. East= view’s REAL MEN READ enjoyed a fun conversation about the book, Bringing Down the House and really good food at Buffalo Wild Wings last Friday.
